With more than 20 years of experience in the international river cruise industry, I am a Chief Executive Officer leading large-scale hospitality and catering operations across Europe. As CEO of Quality River Catering (former Cruisinc), I oversee multi-vessel cruise hotel and catering operations, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and continuous innovation across the fleet.

My career has progressed through senior leadership roles including Chief Operational Officer, Director of Hotel Operations, and Corporate Hotel Manager, giving me a strong foundation in both hands-on operations and executive strategy. This experience has enabled me to scale complex cruise operations while maintaining high service and quality standards.

I focus on developing innovative hospitality and culinary concepts, improving guest satisfaction, and building strong international teams. My leadership is centered on continuous improvement, people development, and creating efficient, resilient operational structures that support sustainable growth.

I am a hospitality professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and more than 15 years of international experience across China, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in diverse hospitality environments, developing a strong understanding of both operational excellence and financial management.

With more than 30 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry, I have dedicated my career to delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and service. My journey began as an Apprentice Cook, where I developed a strong foundation in culinary arts, progressing to Sous Chef in 1999 and Head Chef in 2005.

My passion for hospitality and culinary excellence led me to a successful international career in river cruising, where I gained extensive experience managing diverse teams and complex food operations. In 2018, I was appointed Corporate Executive Chef, taking responsibility for culinary standards and innovation across the fleet. In 2025, I advanced to the role of Director of Food Operations, where I oversee culinary strategy, operational performance, and the continuous enhancement of the onboard dining experience.

I remain passionate about developing talented teams, embracing innovation, and creating memorable experiences for guests through exceptional cuisine and service. My focus has always been on combining operational excellence with creativity, ensuring the highest standards are consistently delivered across every aspect of food operations.

Georgiana Nicolae

With more than 12 years of experience in the river cruise and hospitality industry, I have built my career around supporting people, strengthening organizations, and developing HR strategies that drive operational excellence. As HR Director of Quality River Catering, I oversee human resources across our fleet and shore-based operations, ensuring that our people, processes, and culture support the company’s continued growth and success.

Having progressed from Assistant HR in 2013 to HR Director, I have gained extensive expertise in recruitment, crew management, crew planning, employee relations, payroll administration, talent development, organizational policy development, and legislative compliance within multicultural and fast-paced international environments. This journey has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that define the river cruise industry.

My leadership approach combines strategic vision with hands-on operational support, enabling me to build effective HR structures while remaining closely connected to the needs of our crews, managers, and corporate colleagues. I believe that strong communication, integrity, adaptability, and teamwork are the foundations of exceptional service and sustainable organizational success.

Jorgen van den Berg

With more than 15 years of experience in river cruise hospitality, I have built my career through a combination of operational leadership, crew development, and a passion for continuous improvement. Starting as an Assistant Hotel Manager in 2003, I progressed to Hotel Manager in 2011, gaining extensive onboard experience in delivering exceptional guest service and leading multicultural teams.

In 2016, I was appointed Corporate Hotel Manager, where I was responsible for maintaining fleet-wide hospitality standards, supporting hotel operations, and driving performance across multiple vessels. Since 2018, I have served as Digital Training & Development Manager, focusing on the development of innovative digital learning solutions, effective onboarding programs, and continuous professional growth opportunities for our crews.

I am passionate about empowering people to succeed, embracing technology to enhance learning, and fostering a culture of development and excellence. By combining operational expertise with modern training approaches, I strive to ensure our teams are equipped to deliver outstanding experiences for both guests and colleagues throughout our fleet.
